Review: Vitruvian H.A.C.K.S Series 1: Afterlife Spartan and Gorgon

There is no respite, even in death, with @BossFightstudio Vitruvian H.A.C.K.S. Afterlife Spartan and Gorgon.

In a battle between mighty warriors, mythological creatures and the forces of the Greek Gods themselves, even death would not end the fight for many. Some would refuse to leave the battlefield after their death and fight on as ghost. Bossfight Studio explores this idea with this Vitruvian H.A.C.K.S. Series 1 two figure set, Afterlife Spartan Vs Gorgon: Ghosts of the Battlefield.

Front of Box

edThe figures come in a sold box, with black and white printing and artwork. The back has the story behind the figures, explaining how they are lock in eternal battle against an equally stubborn, and undead, foe. A bit more of the overall H.A.C.K.S. storyline is revealed in the Temporal Log, were the time travellers seem to think that theses spirits could have information to help repair their timeline.

The figures themselves are that of a male Spartan Warrior and an humanoid Gorgon female. Both are molded in a yellowish green, glow in the dark plastic. Their accessories are not glow-in-the-dark, but are translucent, with the Spartan’s in yellow and red and the Gorgon’s in light and dark blue.

The Spartan is male form the typical series 1 male buck, with little paint applications except for the black eyes. The articulation is the same for the series so far with a full rage of movement. His armour, molded in yellow as previously mentioned, consists of a breastplate and skirt in one piece, arm and leg pieces and a helmet with a plume. He also has a strap with a scabbard that you can put over his chest. His weapons are red and includes a sword for the scabbard, a larger sword, a shield and two hand axes.

Figure with sword and shield, no helmet. That skirt pieces looks a little…exposed.
Armour parts, save the bracers and skin guards.

The Gorgon is made from the typical female buck, again with minimum paint save the black for the eyes and mouth and white on the top two fangs. The armour is two pieces molded from a transparent light blue. The top piece is a spiky breast place, similar to the one in the woodland elves accessory pack, with the bottom pieces being a skirt oven in the front. She has bracers on her arms and shin guards on her legs. Her helmet is the usual snake skull helmet the Gorgons love so much. Her weapons include a curved sword, a shield with a Medusa head design and a spear, all made with a dark blue transparent plastic.

Spear.

Get your glow on!

These figures come with a good amount of accessories and articulation. Like all Bossfight figures, they come with spare hands and the black Bossfight Stands. They are pretty sturdy, but I would always suggest caution when handling any female figure in this line. The plastic seems sturdy, but sometimes the glow-in-the-dark stuff can be a bit more fragile.

If you are interested in this set, I would highly recommend it as a buy. For a price of $34.99 USD, you get two figures for $10 more than a single one. With both a male and female figure, you can see how most of the line would be like . You definitely save on the less paint apps for the figures and they still look awesome.

The Vitruvian H.A.C.K.S. series 1: Afterlife Spartan Vs Gorgon 2-pack is available at the Bossfight Studio Store and at some online retailers through eBay. Prices may vary.
