Review: Masters of the Universe Masterverse New Eternia Ram Man

Masters of the Universe is known for the many different characters with on-the-nose names. You expect a man named Man-At-Arms to be a weapon master, a guy called Beast Man, to be a, well, a beast man, and a dude called Syclone to spin like a cyclone. Ran Man is another example. He rams, man. He is also another entry into the Masterverse New Eternia line.

Ram Man first appeared in the original Masters of the Universe line in 1983. His action feature was spring-loaded legs for “ramming action.” He appeared in the 1984 Filmation series and was portrayed as well-meaning, but a bit dim-witted. He appeared in the 2002 cartoon, the 2021 Netflix CGI series (though gender-swapped) and the 2024 Masters of the Universe Revolution and their corresponding toy lines.

The New Eternia Ram Man is a white male in a silver helmet. He is in a red tunic with silver shoulder armour and a brown belt with a metal grey belt buckle. He is wearing green trousers, silver bracers and brown boots with silver toe caps.

His head is on a ball joint and can move around unhindered. His arms are on ball joints with a bicep swivel, double elbows, rotation at the wrist and hinged hands. He has a ball joint in his torso and a waist swivel. His legs are on a t-joint and are covered in a flexible plastic. He has a thigh swivel, double knees, a boot swivel and rocker ankles.

For accessories, he includes some extra heads. Besides the default head, he has a similar head with the mouth and nose covered. The other head has a dark-blueish helmet with some orange highlights and goggles. He also has extra chest armour with an orange symbol on it. He has an axe that can be stored on the extra armour. Finally, he has a spare set of fists and a set of gripping hands gripping hands.

Next to Tuskador (Masters of the Universe Classics)

Ram Man is another good addition to the New Eternia line. The figure is well done, and the extra items are nice. I don’t think any of these looks were from the original prototype (at one point, he was a dwarf,) but they do add to the figure. I missed the Classics version, so I am glad I can add him to my collection. Even though I don’t see them at retail much, I know Masterverse is still going strong and has been offered on Amazon.ca. I hope I will be able to get figures like the Green Goddess/Sorceress of Ka Teela figure later this year.
